Who will sneak across the border first?
It seems the meal assembly business is branching out in a big way!
CHICAGO, June 12 PRNewswire – Dinner by Design, a leading meal assembly company, today signed a major agreement for the expansion of the Dinner by Design brand in Canada.
Dinner by Design is believed to be the first major U.S. based meal assembly company* that has entered into a major franchise expansion agreement in Canada.
Dinner by Design also announced its first area development agreement for at least three locations with Judith Hartman for the State of Hawaii. Company executives report the Hawaiian market offers an opportunity for growth based on its diverse cultural base and strong presence of military personnel.
While I’m not that familiar with Hawaii, I find it interesting to expand in that region. They have an interesting point of marketing toward military personnel. We’ll see if the demand for such “American” food presents itself.
In an industry which redefines the word “copycat”, we’ll see which franchise strikes a deal across the border.
