How To Handle Franchise Lawsuits
My, my, my… Who does this sound like?
despite franchisee failures and franchise lawsuits … “is undeterred in its efforts to build new franchise concepts.”
without doing all the requisite development and perfection of the system that he should have done,”
The company also is considering changing its name for a fresh start from the negative press attracted by the lawsuits, he said.
“It doesn’t make you happy and it doesn’t make you feel good,” Sprock said about the lawsuits. “It’s disappointing. But we’re not going to allow a small group of people to get in the way of doing something great.”
“There will always be more. My lawyer just says to plug in a certain amount of money each year to defend lawsuits.”
It makes you just want to run out and buy a franchise now doesn’t it? Is there some sort of playbook they read from before they start swindling people out of money?
Yes indeed, long live franchising…

Last Summer Tracy Smith disappeared from DD. No one knew what happened. One day she was on a conference call the next- gone.
My point is this, I dont beleive she ever quit. There was a post on Forbes.com mentioning this mp3 interview that is dated Sept. 22, 2007 when I tried to go to it, I never got directed to it.
Anyone interested check this out: http://dancosgrove.podomatic.com/ scroll down it is in the middle of the page.
I wonder if this would help in the Owners in the Lawsuit. To me it is just one more lie in this twisted scheme.

My guess is that the interview last aired in September 2007, however probably ran previous to that date, as well. It may also have been recorded before she left and then not aired until September. I believe he mentioned that she was the head coach at the time of the interview.
I had heard that she went to work for one of the motivational speakers from the owner’s conference.

FYI - Tracy Smith is listed as a plaintiff on the $30 million lawsuit. She is not immune.

FYI - Tracy did quit! She was asked to replace Stephanie at the meetings for new zee’s and basically lie to them. She was asked to lie to the current zee’s about the state of things and what was going on. She was asked to do things she could not live with. She made a choice and that choice was to quit, because her crys for change were being ignored. Because of that choice she is no longer protected by the DD umbrella, and stands alone in the suit. I have no doubts that when the time comes and she is asked, what will be heard is truth. That truth should scare the hell out of Stephanie and Tina.

Friend- You sound like you have inside info. Maybe Tracy should make a deal with the plaintiffs attorneys to testify against Steph and Tina and she can get dropped from the lawsuit in return.

I agree with LostDDer.
If this is true Tracy needs to protect Herself and Her family.
Now, doesnt this give you all Dream Dinners Owners a warm, F___ing, Family feeling, when your OWN sister in law, STEPONME lets blood family hang out and dry like that.
I say all Dream Dinners Owners unite and ditch the UFOC-
If you are still paying royalities now….your a fool!

I think at this point it’s any scapegoat in a storm…
I have only read a little about this lawsuit and at first it may have seemed like a lark or a folly, but I believe it now has some teeth and is gaining momentum. It wouldn’t surprise me if they’re trying to throw whoever they can under the bus.
