Pennies on the dollar
The more I think about it the more intrigued I am over Darin’s comments that if Dream Dinners was facing its financial demise the company would be sold off for pennies on the dollar. Why say such a thing? What is to be gained by making such a statement, and who on earth would they sell the company too?
Is that their failsafe plan? Is that the big Plan C? When it all hits the fan and owners aren’t being stiff-armed into coughing up hush money DD will sell itself off for a few dollars? And then what? Darin sneaks back to One Accord and acts like nothing happened? Stephanie jumps on her boat and heads for International waters to avoid prosecution?
His statement really has me puzzled at this point. I think there is a lot of merde about to roll downhill all over DD and comments like this from the CEO really give credence to that kind of thinking.
The more things I hear from and about Darin, the more I think he was brought in to shut things down. Why else would you bring in a guy to be your CEO and allow him to keep his regular job? Simple, after a few months you won’t need him anymore…
Where are Stephanie and Tina to dispel these rumors and fears? Where are the real owners of the business during the hour of need? Truly, something really seems amiss here…

Didn’t someone say there was a plaintiff in the room during this meeting? It may have been for their benefit.

You may be right on that one - but it may also have just been an off-handed comment. If someone is asking you in a room full of people “What happens if you have to file bankruptcy?”, he may be just giving scenarios of when companies file bankruptcy.
Still…it is a concerning statement and the whole Darin Leonard thing is as amiss to me as it is to TB.

Saying something like that with one of the plaintiffs in the room seems more like you are helping their case than proving them wrong. Talk like that sounds like you already have your “poison pill” at the ready should things go south…
Something still smells rotten in Denmark when you are the CEO of one company, but employed and paid by a totally different company…
