Customers Still Crave Fried Food
Health and wellness may be top-of-mind trends in consumer dining, but a new study by foodservice consultants Technomic finds that there has not been a significant migration away from fried foods. According to the new Future of Fried Foods Study, the billions of fried food servings ordered each year by Americans are driven by value, craveability and broad appeal.

Um what’s not to love? Americans are self-delusional if nothing else…example…spouse goes on a biz trip and tells me that he had that new “premium chicken” sangwich from Mickey D’s. “It was fried though not grilled” said spouse says. To which I said,” so you drank diet soda?” Spouse,”Yes of course.” To which I replied,” Let me guess, you had a biggy fry?” Spouse replies somewhat tentatively and sheepishly,” umm, uh huh, yes I did.”
Nuff said, we want to have our fried food and fool ourselves into thinking that diet coke makes up for eating fatty fried food and over-indulging in eating an order of fries that’s big enough to comfortably feed a family of 5….
