What’s in that fast food you’re eating?
This should scare the socks off you!
What’s really in your food? – Learn the truth about these four fast-food favorites
The “meat” also contains something called “autolyzed yeast extract.” Then add another 20 ingredients that make up the breading, and you have the industrial chemical—we mean, fast-food meal—called the McNugget. Still, McDonald’s is practically all-natural compared to Wendy’s Chicken Nuggets, with 30 ingredients, and Burger King Chicken Fries, with a whopping 35 ingredients.
Behold the McDeath Nugget!
Last time I looked it was February
February was a fast month wasn’t it? Not too much happening in the world of meal assembly, but I have seen quite a few articles about dream Dinners and their recipe contest winners. One the one hand that seems like a neat idea, but on the other, considering the bad shape Dream Dinners is in, it seems like a cheap way to get new recipe ideas. It’s old news that DD doesn’t really have a recipe development department any more, but there’s something about this that I always find irksome.
Another topic I have seen come up is Independent stores that are starting to gain a small amount of ground with customers since the big chain stores have fallen off. Have other Independent stores found a few more customers now that Dream Dinners and Super Suppers have left your area? I still can’t say there’s money to be made anymore, but it might give the opportunity to shut down things on your own terms. Hopefully no one is actually considering starting one of these businesses up now that the competition has abated. That would just be silly.
And where is Super Suppers these days? From the dwindling numbers and complete lack of news from HQ I can only assume those in charge have abandoned ship and have left the store owners to fend for themselves? Are there any Super Suppers own out there who want to fill us in on how you’re making it month to month? Are you still getting new recipes? Is there still a corporate office? Normally no news is good news, but this kind of silence is getting a little scary.
Symantec buys hybrid tractor trailer for food bank
In case you aren’t aware, Symantec is a software producer. You’re probably familiar with the product names of Norton Antivirus or Norton Internet Security.
“For many years, Symantec has supported Second Harvest’s mission of feeding Silicon Valley’s hungry and our sponsorship of the hybrid Produce Mobile will ensure fresh produce is delivered to those in need,” said John W. Thompson, Symantec chairman of the board. “I applaud Second Harvest for reinvesting the cash savings from this hybrid vehicle into additional food and programs to serve the community.”
Helping the community and the environment.
Happy Thanksgiving Everyone!
Hopefully today you find yourself surrounded by family and friends. And if by chance those people aren’t available at least you find yourself surrounded by people who brought a dessert.
Have a great holiday everyone and enjoy the time off before things really get hectic as you get everyone’s Christmas wishlist.
Judie Byrd’s Kitchen – Ditching Super Suppers to be a Celebrity Chef
You may be asking yourself, “Why haven’t I heard anything about Super Suppers in the news lately?” or “Why are there so many Super Suppers stores closing?” “Does Judie still have anything to do with her former franchise?” Well, one answer could be that Judie has ditched the whole idea of the Super Suppers franchise so she can focus on becoming a celebrity chef.
To be honest I’m shocked they filmed more than a handful of these shows. After watching those first few horrible clips I figured the show was as doomed as her franchise. But I guess it goes to show you, people would rather watch a show about cooking (any show) than cook for themselves.
And FamilyNet is blasting her all over the airwaves. They are repeating her shows everyday at 5pm and 2am. It’s saturation bombing! If that wasn’t enough you get her at 12pm on Saturday. I assume that is actually the new episode which they then repeat endlessly for the next couple of weeks.
For the month of November she is digging deep and bringing out “More Supper Super Recipes”. Just because the franchise is rubbish doesn’t mean she can’t recycle all those old recipes for a new audience!
Just as surprising that this show is still on the air is the fact that the other meal prep outfits haven’t ripped it off, copied it and tried to make it their own. That’s clearly how they used to do it, right? It seems some of those other corporate leaders wouldn’t be able to stand the fact that someone is on television when they’re not.
